Molester Man 21.5 (Final)

More than 3 months after chapter 21, I have finally gotten around to finishing chapter 21.5, the bonus epilogue chapter that's a YOKO-original, meaning that it's not based on the original Molester Man threads. With this, the Molester Man manga, the first manga I ever attempted to translate, is finally finished. I spent years translating this manga and I still can't really believe it's done now. But this is only the manga version of "Molester Man". The original threads are fascinating and very entertaining in their own way. They're almost like a historical document from that time in November, 2004 when 2ch had gotten more popular than ever thanks to Densha Otoko etc. and VIP had gotten extremely big and chaotic. It'd be an interesting project for me. I know it's a lot of work, but as I'd translate post by post I'd be able to work on it even if I'm very busy with other things. But well, I haven't even started yet, so don't expect anything any soon. Anyways, please enjoy the last chapter of Molester Man!

      Unfortunately nothing. His earlier 2ch stuff is even harder to find than his current serialized stuff. I'm always on the lookout for his RAWs.

      I didn't add it, I only translated what was there. MtG is about as popular in Japan as anywhere else. NicoNico is full of MtG videos, for instance.

    Too bad we never find out what really happens afterwards. I'd imagine Kansai would find out eventually seeing as how much attention Molester Man got in Japan. I wonder if they continued to date. Or even got married! o.O

    btw, did anyone ever find the picture Molester Man posted of Sachiko?

    Where can the full original raw threads be found? The geocities compilation is edited, but you seem to be translating all the posts. Your translations were awesome, btw! You really are doing an awesome job bringing out most of the Japanese-specific puns and references.

Hey guys, great title for a manga, eh? This one is a Dragon Quest V doujinshi that was originally posted on Pixiv by Nikiichi Tobita (MONSTER X MONSTER), when he was still an amateur artist. In fact, you'll notice a few similarities to MONSTER X MONSTER. You could say, this manga = MONSTER X MONSTER - DQ V. It's a more or less free adaptation of the "How I stalked some dude with an exposed nipple and stumbled upon the Zenithian Swordwwww" thread that was started on 2ch by an anonymous poster with the ID YDmPhSO2. So yeah, he's the author, I suppose. If the title is too long for you, the Japanese also refer to it as Bonfire NEET (焚き火ニート). Note: You should really play Dragon Quest V before you read this one (doesn't matter if it's the original SNES, or one of its remakes on DS and PS2). Molester Man Original Threads

This is probably my first post that's not about a new manga chapter I translated. Sorry for getting your hopes up. I just wanted to announce that I started working on the original Molester Man 2ch threads. You can see the translated bits when you click on the "Molester Man 2ch threads" button on the top of my blog. As I hinted at in my last post, I'll be translating it post by post. What I meant is that I'll have the online page with my translations synchronized with the files on my computer. It's supposed to feel like an actual thread. New posts come in one by one as I'm translating it. That way, I don't have to wait until I've translated a whole thread or a whole batch of posts which makes things a lot more comfortable for me. Even if I'm extremely busy, I'll still find the time to translate a post or two. So check in every once in a while and see if there are any new posts in the threads. Have fun! If you were in the thread in /a/, you probably know already, but chapter 21 is done. I saw comments about how I chose the wrong time for chapter 21, but to my defense, I wasn't finished with the chapter until 19:30 CST. That's why I'm very glad that I chose that time zone. Anyways, enjoy the final chapter of Molester Man. The last extra chapter will follow in the near future. I have to catch up on a lot of things I had put on hold until MM was finished.
