Molester Man Chapters 1-2

Here's the new chapter of Onepunch-... No, sorry, this time, it's not Onepunchman. The new chapter of OPM won't be out until next week. If you look at the subtitle of this blog, you'll see that I actually started this blog to post translations of manga you probably never even heard of. Even with OPM having gained worldwide fame by now, I still plan on continuing translating minor manga (OPM was an exception, I just couldn't believe why no one was translating something so famous and awesome).

So yeah, here's a very minor one again. It's Molester Man (Chikan Otoko in Japanese), another doujin by YOKO. You could say, it's the smaller brother of Train Man (Densha Otoko) as it's another 2ch story that involves a loser 2ch inhabitant getting involved in an incident and asking 2ch for advice on how to handle it. I finished the first 2 chapters, so have a look at them if you like. You'll soon see from the art that it's one of YOKO's earlier works (even before Tsunbaka and OMK). It's pretty simple and sketchy, but it does get better with every chapter. I doubt that this will become as famous as OPM, but imo it's a very interesting ride and a pretty long one too.

  1. A bit narrative at times, but a rather interesting, and funny manga

    1. Wow, someone actually read it! Thanks, Anon.

It's narrative because the dialogs and narrations are all taken from the original 2ch thread. That's why you have to deal with pages of mail exchanges and overly wordy narrations of the main protagonist. But imo it's worth it as it's a lot more realistic take on relationships than the average romance manga.

  2. I actually kinda liked the exchanges and the mini walls of text, it felt like I was reading the thread.

Thank you for translating these! It's an interesting story so far.

  3. I really like stories like this because they aren't the usual unbelievable romance tales. Thanks for doing this and keep up the good work. ^_^

  9. This seems like a very enjoyable read. I like how the narration is done, you really get a insightfull view of how the main character feels. Also I like how the art is a little sketchy.
A great found you have done, and thanks for the great translation!

  10. It's alright. Although I'm judging Miss understanding quite terribly so far.

  11. I was attracted to this because the title reflects the low and seedy reputation that I have spent over 50 years developing!!

MUA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!! (Please imagine Boris Badenov-type voice to Ol'PervySageChuck's evil laughter!!)

To the team: Thanks for scanlating it and making it possible to read even for people where it's surely not going to be published...

  19. I was randomly browsing manga titles and for some reason this struck me as very interesting, probably cause of the strange name and that the author was telling the story from his own life. This was a great read. The main character is very relatable to and I fucking love Kansai.

Also, this must have been done a while ago seeing as how Howl's Moving Castle was just coming out in Japan theaters. Can't wait for more scanlations for this. Keep up the great work!
