Old Man of the Underworld (Makai no Ossan)

Hey, everyone, just wanted to say that I've started translating Old Man of the Underworld (Makai no Ossan) by ONE. It's a slice-of-life-in-hell kind of gag web manga that works surprisingly well with ONE's rather crude drawing style. It even adds to the comedic effect imo. ONE updates it daily (weekends and national holidays included). Everyday, he adds a page or two, which makes it a very convenient project that I can work on even when I'm busy, just like it's the case with the Molester Man threads. Everyday, I'll try to add a few pages and will hopefully catch up to him soon enough.

    Not sure if this has already been asked, but have you considered translating the OPM webcomics? Or do you feel that it's wasted since you are already translating the manga version

      As Murata's version is an extremely faithful remake of ONE's original, I'd rather translate something completely new.

    In "The Rule", one bubble says something about being six thousand degrees hot; it might be better to just say "over six thousand degrees", or to replace hot with Fahrenheit or Celsius.

    I say so just because I don't think six thousand degrees can ever be cold, and I don't usually here people refer to degrees as hot.

    Another solution would just be have had "can reach six thousand degrees" or 'can melt bones" or something.

    hi, i looked up this series at its original site tonarinoyj.jp (although i couldn't read it) and it seems the latest page seems like an ending, is that right? and btw,will you planning on translating the rest of the pages from this screwed up (but nonetheless really good and somewhat original) manga?

Hey guys, great title for a manga, eh? This one is a Dragon Quest V doujinshi that was originally posted on Pixiv by Nikiichi Tobita (MONSTER X MONSTER), when he was still an amateur artist. In fact, you'll notice a few similarities to MONSTER X MONSTER. You could say, this manga = MONSTER X MONSTER - DQ V. It's a more or less free adaptation of the "How I stalked some dude with an exposed nipple and stumbled upon the Zenithian Swordwwww" thread that was started on 2ch by an anonymous poster with the ID YDmPhSO2. So yeah, he's the author, I suppose. If the title is too long for you, the Japanese also refer to it as Bonfire NEET (焚き火ニート). Note: You should really play Dragon Quest V before you read this one (doesn't matter if it's the original SNES, or one of its remakes on DS and PS2). It's a great game, so you should have played it anyway. Also, the author made a few minor changes to the DQ V story to make the main protagonist fit in. Enjoy! Volu

Molester Man Original Threads

This is probably my first post that's not about a new manga chapter I translated. Sorry for getting your hopes up. I just wanted to announce that I started working on the original Molester Man 2ch threads. You can see the translated bits when you click on the "Molester Man 2ch threads" button on the top of my blog. As I hinted at in my last post, I'll be translating it post by post. What I meant is that I'll have the online page with my translations synchronized with the files on my computer. It's supposed to feel like an actual thread. New posts come in one by one as I'm translating it. That way, I don't have to wait until I've translated a whole thread or a whole batch of posts which makes things a lot more comfortable for me. Even if I'm extremely busy, I'll still find the time to translate a post or two. So check in every once in a while and see if there are any new posts in the threads. Have fun! Molester Man 21

If you were in the thread in /a/, you probably know already, but chapter 21 is done. I saw comments about how I chose the wrong time for chapter 21, but to my defense, I wasn't finished with the chapter until 19:30 CST. That's why I'm very glad that I chose that time zone. Anyways, enjoy the final chapter of Molester Man. The last extra chapter will follow in the near future. I have to catch up on a lot of things I had put on hold until MM was finished.
